Voisium operates Voisium Cards. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@voisium.com. This notice describes the current native iOS app.

Optional Apple sign-in

You can study as a guest. With Sign in with Apple, the app receives an app-specific user identifier and, when provided, your name. It stores the identifier and a display name in the device Keychain. The app does not request your email address or receive your Apple Account password.

Local information and guest use

Language choices, study level, speech speed, daily goal, reminders, daily study count and card progress are stored on the device. Custom-deck names and text also stay in app storage. Guest data is separate and is not automatically transferred when you sign in. App-managed local storage may be included in system backups according to device settings.

Private iCloud progress

When you sign in and iCloud is available, card progress syncs through Apple CloudKit in the current iCloud account’s private database. The Apple Account used for app sign-in can differ from that iCloud account; the app keeps these account combinations separate.

Synced fields include card/language identifiers, review stage, due time, answer/correct-answer counts, update/version information and reset/deletion markers. Custom-card progress may sync, but custom-deck text, settings and the daily counter do not. Guest progress is not uploaded.

Speech, reminders and service providers

The app uses Apple speech synthesis and available Apple voices. It does not record your voice or save speech as audio files. Voice availability depends on the device. Optional reminders use local notifications with your permission.

The current native app has no Firebase, Google sign-in, advertising or analytics SDKs. Information supports sign-in, learning, progress sync and reminders; it is not sold or used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Apple operates its services under its own privacy terms.

Retention and signing out

Saved data has no automatic expiry. Signing out clears the app’s Keychain sign-in record, but does not erase saved progress, decks or iCloud data. Uninstalling is not a request to delete cloud data. You can delete custom decks or reset selected-language progress; resets sync as markers.

Account deletion and its limits

A new account-deletion request in Settings normally requires Apple reauthentication and an iCloud connection. It targets that app identity’s captured account generation in the current iCloud account. Cleanup removes its card-progress records from that scope, its Keychain sign-in record, captured local progress and custom decks whose ownership can be established (including known older scopes), and its local iCloud association metadata.

A minimal private-cloud account-state record remains without automatic expiry: a deletion flag, generation/write-version identifiers and CloudKit metadata. It prevents updated clients from restoring obsolete progress. It contains no display name or card answers.

If deletion cannot finish, the app keeps a local pending-deletion record until the captured targets are completed or found to belong to an obsolete account generation. It contains app-account and iCloud identifiers, captured local scopes and generation information, not passwords or Apple authorization tokens. The affected identity’s progress is not uploaded while its deletion is pending. Reconnect with the same iCloud account and retry; a different iCloud account cannot complete that target. A later recreated account generation is not deleted by the old request.

Guest data, app settings, other Apple identities’ local data and older files whose ownership cannot be established remain. Copies in other iCloud account combinations need deletion using those accounts; explicit deletion targets the current iCloud account. Offline devices and system backups cannot be remotely erased; old app versions may not apply current safeguards. Your Apple Account is not deleted. Removing Sign in with Apple access is a separate manual step in Apple Account settings. When Apple reports access revoked or not found, the app also initiates cleanup of the affected local identity and known cloud targets, with retries when the required accounts are available.

Your choices and requests

You can use guest mode, change settings, disable notifications, reset progress, remove decks, sign out or delete the app account. Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning your personal information. Contact info@voisium.com; do not send passwords. Support uses your message to respond, but cannot remotely control your private iCloud database or offline devices. We update this notice when relevant processing changes.
